Computers
All 25 Tulsa City-County Library locations offer PCs with access to the Internet and Microsoft Office products.
Using library computers
There is a daily time limit for each customer using the computers: 90 minutes at the Central, Hardesty Regional, Martin Regional, Rudisill Regional and Zarrow Regional libraries and 60 minutes at all other locations. Customers are only allowed to use their own card, issued in their name, to access the computers and abide by the time limits associated with one card. Customers may not lend their card, sell their time, or otherwise transfer their daily Internet time/usage privileges to any other user.
- In order to use library Internet computers, a customer must have a valid Tulsa City-County Library card.
- Courtesy/visitor cards are available under certain circumstances. Please ask at the service desk.
To log in:
- Click on "Log In" at the bottom left of the screen
- Type your first name, last name & library card number in the appropriate boxes.
- Read the Internet Usage Policy
- Click "Agree" to continue. By doing so you agree to abide by the terms in the policy.
- A yellow clock displays how much time remains in the session.
When I try to log in I get an "Access Denied" message. What do I do?
First try retyping your name & library card number in the boxes in case something was mistyped. If you still cannot log in, take your library card to the service desk to make sure it is up-to-date.
I minimized a window and now I can't find it. Where did it go?
If you have minimized a window and need to return to the window, click on the "Programs" button at the bottom of the menu screen. A box will open with a list of running programs. Highlight the name of the program and click "Go To" or double-click the name of the program to return to it.
To log out:
- When you are finished, make sure to click on the "Log Out" button at the bottom left of the screen. This will ensure that no one else can use your time and help protect your privacy.
- A warning message will display 5 minutes before your ending time. Make sure you save all work at that time. You will be logged off automatically at the end of your session.
- If you haven't used the mouse or keyboard in 5 minutes, the computer will ask "Are you still there?" You have 30 seconds to click "Yes," or you will be logged out. You may log back in if you still have available time.
