The March book club selection is Call Me Francis Tucket. This second book in a popular series by Gary Paulsen (a favorite author of Literacy book club!) is another action-packed Western with galloping horses and one friendly old mule. There are also shooting rifles, heroes, scoundrels, some lost children, (maybe a few wolves here and there) and prairie ethics. Gary Paulsen is a Newberry Honor award winning master storyteller whose stories often appeal to reluctant readers. The vocabulary will feature old-fashioned words no longer in common use and could be new to tutors and learners alike.
At 112 pages, this will be a fine book for someone looking to join in the book club fun.
