On July 28 beginning at 5:30 am, all library services will be temporarily unavailable while we move equipment into our new data center. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.
The March book club selection is Call Me Francis Tucket. This second book in a popular series by Gary Paulsen (a favorite author of Literacy book club!) is another action-packed Western with galloping horses and one friendly old mule. There are also shooting rifles, heroes, scoundrels, some lost children, (maybe a few wolves here and there) and prairie ethics. Gary Paulsen is a Newberry Honor award winning master storyteller whose stories often appeal to reluctant readers. The vocabulary will feature old-fashioned words no longer in common use and could be new to tutors and learners alike.
At 112 pages, this will be a fine book for someone looking to join in the book club fun.
Book club meets at the Literacy Office, 2901 S. Harvard Ave., March 31, from 6:30-7:30 pm.
