In January 2017, TCCL uploaded transcripts for Herbert Gussman, Jewell Russell Mann, and Mrs. Otto (Mary Belle) Kramer into the Junior League of Tulsa Oral History Digital Collection. Mr. Gussman talks about the origins of the Tulsa Philharmonic and tells related stories about musicians, conductors, and venues. Jewell Russell Mann went to law school in the basement of Central High School in the 20s. In this interview, she talks about the Depression, the Business and Professional Women's Club activities and contributions, discrimination, and women's rights, including the bill she wrote that allowed women to sit on a jury in Oklahoma. Mary Belle Kramer discusses the development of Maple Ridge and the people who lived there.
Transcripts made possible by Dr. Stephanie Youngblood's Tulsa Community College Digital Humanities class.
