Beginning at 9:15 p.m. on Wed., May 4, the catalog and services requiring your library card to log in will be unavailable overnight during maintenance.
If you’ve wanted to try out the library’s ebook collection but have been wary of signing up for new accounts or dealing with downloads, then check out a recent change to our digital collection that has simplified the process. With the addition of the new Overdrive READ service, many of our eBook titles can now be read right in your web browser with no additional software to install.
You can find the collection of Overdrive READ titles on our digital catalog page. Once you’ve found an ebook you’d like to try, simply click on its title or cover image to open that title’s record. In the top right corner of the record, you should see a box titled Available Formats. If the title is available in the OverDrive READ format, you can click on the large ‘Borrow’ button in the middle of the page to check it out, or if all the copies are currently checked out, you can click on the ‘Place a Hold’ button to get on the book’s waiting list. In either case, you will need to sign in with your library card number. Once you have checked out the READ title, you’ll be taken to your bookshelf, where you’ll be given the option to download the title or read it in your browser. Selecting the latter option will open the book for you, and you’re ready to read!
