Small business contracting workshop coming to Muskogee

The Oklahoma District office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will present Strategies for Growth: Federal Contracting and Certifications April 17th from 9:30 a.m. until noon at Indian Capital Technology Center, 2403 N. 41st St. E in Muskogee.

“This workshop is targeted to the small business owner interested in growing their business through government contracting and certifications,” said Vanessa Woodfork, SBA Business Opportunity Specialist, who will conduct the workshop. “The federal government is the single largest buyer of goods and services in the United States. It’s important for businesses to understand what opportunities exist and how they can become certified in different areas to take advantage of programs designed to help small businesses grow.”

The free workshop will cover the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program, Government contracting, HUBZone Contracting Program, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Program and Woman Owned Small Business Program.

For more information and to sign up for the workshop contact Sharon Nichols, Business Development Specialist at the Northeastern State University Oklahoma Small Business Development Center, at 918/444-5412.
