Veterans Day is Sunday. First proclaimed by President Wilson in 1919 as Armistice Day, Veterans Day day is set aside to honor and thank the men and women who put themselves in harm's way for all Americans.
As gratitude to our veterans and active-duty service members many communities are marking the day with parades and other celebrations. Tulsa will hold its 94th annual Veterans Day parade on Monday, November 12 beginning at 11am in downtown Tulsa. In addition to parades and events, many restaurants and retailers are offering specials to veterans and active-duty service members. The Tulsa City-County Library has compiled a list of area offers. Access these here: http://guides.tulsalibrary.org/content.php?pid=245226&sid=2271989.
If you have a friend, neighbor or loved one that is currently or has served in the U.S. military remember to thank that person for his or her service to our nation.
