The Invention of Wings by Cindy Hulsey

Sue Monk Kidd’s latest book, The Invention of Wings, is a moving novel narrated by two remarkable women; Sarah Grimke, the daughter of slave-holding parents in early 18th century Charleston, and Handful, the house slave who is presented as a gift to Sarah on her eleventh birthday.

Tulsa: A New Home

Tulsa City-County Library and the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art are pleased to announce the exhibition Tulsa: A New Home, which opens June 1st at the Hardesty Regional Library. Tulsa: A New Home celebrates early Jewish immigrants to Tulsa and their impact on the broader community.

A Place for a New Staircase

The Central Library will soon have a new staircase between the second and third floors.  The photo shows the opening cut in the third floor, looking down to the second and first floors.

Making Way for Study Rooms

In the photo, workmen are shown removing the surface of the Central Library's second floor balcony.  On the balcony's east and west sides, eight small study group rooms will be constructed.
