Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt announced Thursday Feb 9, 2012 the details of the Oklahoma Mortgage Settlement with national loan servicers. This settlement is intended to provide relief to many Oklahoma homeowners who are victims of unfair or unlawful banking practices. The Oklahoma settlement is with 5 mortgage lenders – Bank of America, CitiGroup, GMAC, Chase and Wells Fargo.

To participate in the Settlement Program, access a Mortgage Foreclosure Restitution form here: http://bit.ly/wqjKqm. This form must be submitted along with all documents, correspondence or other information that supports the claim. Please note, the AG’s office will not consider incomplete forms.

Oklahoma’s settlement is not the same as the national settlement program between the Obama Administration and 5 national lenders. Information about AG Pruitt’s decision to forego participation in the national settlement program can be accessed through the following links: http://bit.ly/y1AJ3k, http://bit.ly/xtuUQ9, http://cnnmon.ie/yVOIyH.

Oklahoma’s choice to opt out of the national settlement does not prevent Oklahoma homeowners from taking advantage of assistance with principal-reducing and refinancing options within the national settlement.

If you have questions or comments about the settlement these can be directed to: AG’s Public Protection Unit at (405) 521-2029, e-mail PublicProtection@oag.ok.gov or go online to the Oklahoma Mortgage Settlement Page at www.oag.ok.gov.
