You may have noticed the Encore banner on our homepage. This new catalog system allows for more user-friendly searching, giving you the option to limit immediately by format, library branch, language and publication date. You can also rate books, movies, CDs, and other items we have in our collection, and add a subject tag to the item to help other people find similar titles.

The Encore catalog also makes it easier to look up magazine articles as well. Now, when you perform a keyword search, it searches the library’s MasterFILE Premier database, which has access to hundreds of magazines and journals. Any articles found from your search will appear in the ‘Format’ box on the left side of your results screen.

In the near future, the green Catalog tab will link to Encore, and the ‘Catalog search …’ box at the top of the screen will search Encore. You will still be able to access the regular catalog via the ‘Classic Catalog’.
