Pardon Us While We Turn The Page To Our Future

A new Tulsa Central Library Renewed sign has been placed on Denver at 5th Street to inform the public that renovation of the Central Library is underway.  It includes a beautiful architectural rendering depicting the main entrance to the library and the new parking garage as they will be seen from 5th Street.

Fifth Street Entrance Demolition

The original fountains at the entrance of the library have been removed to make way for a new main entrance plaza, which will be accessible from the reopened Fifth Street.

The Dig

The photo shows equipment in the lower basement where the slab has been cut to accommodate new underground plumbing.  Upstairs, demolition of elevator door frames and plaster in the stairways continues.  With the security fence in place, demolition can begin on the planters at the south end of the library.

A Sign of Progress

The exterior library sign at the north end of the Central Library was recently removed.  The demolition of the loading dock was completed and the removal of the river rock panels continues on the exterior.  Inside, the demolition of stairs and the elevators will make way for new ones soon.

Supporting The Central Library Renewed Project is as Easy as Swiping Your Debit Card

Tulsa City-County Library and Oklahoma Central Credit Union are teaming up to offer "My Tulsa Library Community Card," featuring an artist rendering of the renewed Central Library (see card image on the left).  Each time the card is used, a donation will be made to the Central Library Renewed capital campaign.

The Visa Debit Card is available with an Oklahoma Central Credit Union checking account and provides members access to their funds without writing a check.  There are no annual fees and it can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.
