Auditorium to Remain a Tribute to Alfred E. Aaronson

Central Library's Aaronson Auditorium, shown in this photo during demolition, will be redesigned and continue to honor the legacy of Alfred E. Aaronson who led the campaign in the early 1960's to form what is now the Tulsa City-County Library.

Dumpsters Full!

You may not see a lot of activity on the Denver Avenue side of the Central Library, but the dumpsters are filling up on the west side.  Go to the library's Flickr to see a collection of photos documenting the Central Library's renovation.

From Outside It May Look Like Nothing is Happening But ...

Take a look at this photo of the first floor where the Central Library Media Center was located.  Looking south you can see the former location of the Volunteer Office, and on the right the Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service, both now located at 2901 S. Harvard.

Central's Main Floor is Now Difficult to Recognize!

The photo at the left shows the main or second floor where the fountain was located, under the staircase leading to the third floor.  Crews have cleared the fourth and third floors.  Removal of walls and ceilings on the first floor is nearly complete.
