Celebrate Kwanzaa with the African-American Resource Center. Kwanzaa is an annual Pan-African celebration. Beginning on December 26 (the day after Christmas), the holiday is engaged as an ancient and living cultural tradition which reflects the best of African thought and practice. African singers and dancers engage the audience, as well as local spoken word artists and poets. During the "Mamanem" segment, audience members of all ages are encouraged to present their own talents of singing, dancing, or reciting poetry as a free will offering to celebrate the harvest and the new year. Join us! Free and open to the public.
