Foundation Center @ TCCL
Core Resources

The Foundation Center @ TCCL’s reference collection is located in the Research Center on the 4th floor of the Central Library, the collection’s reference materials and databases are limited to use in the Central Library. A collection of circulating books and videos is also located on the 4th floor of Central Library; these materials can be requested and routed to any of TCCL’s 25 locations.

The Foundation Directory Online
This resource provides fundraisers with access to searchable online databases of grant makers, grants, and 990s.

Foundation Grants to Individuals Online
This database helps you quickly search through detailed descriptions of more than 6,000 foundation and public charity programs that fund students, researchers, artists and other individual grant seekers. The database also incorporates helpful tutorials and Foundation Center resources to assist individuals with finding grants.

The accurate and complete preparation of Form 990-the information return that must be filed annually by most types of tax-exempt organizations-is a key factor in maintaining public image and fundraising capabilities. The newly redesigned From 990 was released in December 2008 with significant revisions to the initial June 2007 draft. Preparation of the new return will require tax-exempt organizations to gather extensive new information about their activities for disclosure on the new form beginning with their 2008 tax year.
