Foundation Center Topical Resource Guide – Foundation Grants to Individuals Online provides a listing of books and websites compiled by the Foundation Center for individual grant seekers. Some of the listed resources are repeated below.

Grants for Individuals is a compilation of web resources and grant opportunities for individuals, arranged by academic level, population group and subject. This resource was compiled by Michigan State University and is updated frequently.

Grantmakers of Oklahoma provides contact, budget, and area of interest information on 242 Oklahoma foundations.

GuideStar is a searchable database of nonprofits providing 990s, contact information, board members, etc. Please note: you must register and/or join this site; the level of information provided is contingent on member level.

The Grantsmanship Center’s “Funding Sources” offers detailed information on federal funding opportunities, including current and archived sections for the Federal Register, current budget of the Federal government as well as serving as a watchdog for Federal impacts on state budgets. You will need to register to access information, registration is free.

Tulsa Organizations & Services a database compiled by the Tulsa City-County Library, this database provides detailed contact and program information for many of Tulsa’s community services and organizations.

TCCL’s Online Research Center Pathfinders

Helpful Oklahoma Programs links to web sites designed for students who will be in the 9th, 10th and 11th grades and their parents. GearUp is a federally-granted program that informs Oklahomans about free educational programs, as well as mentoring and financial aid.

NETting College Financial Aid is a pathfinder providing web addresses for representative sites available on the Internet containing financial aid information.

Federal Student Aid links to Web sites for filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Request for PIN can be found here.

Americans for the Arts acts as an information clearinghouse that provides material on funding for individuals in all areas of the arts.

Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa in partnership with arts organizations, artists, patrons, school districts, educators, community groups, business and government, seeks to strengthen the relationship of the arts to economic development and the business community; enhance arts education; nurture creativity, innovation, artistic quality and professional development; broaden public and private support of the arts; and introduce the arts and humanities to new audiences.

Lannan is "dedicated to cultural freedom, diversity and creativity through projects which support exceptional contemporary artists and writers, as well as inspired Native activists in rural indigenous communities."

The MacArthur Fellows Program Commonly known as the "genius grants," this MacArthur Foundation program "awards unrestricted fellowships to talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction."

National Endowment for the Arts offers project grants and limited individual grants.

New York Foundation for the Arts’ mission starts with individual artists in the visual, media, performing and literary arts. This site offers access to the most comprehensive list of resources for artists in the nation, opening doors to the widest range of financial, educational, technological, and institutional resources and information.

Oklahoma Arts Council's vision is to improve lives through the arts. They do this primarily by awarding grants-more than 1,500 annually to 500 organizations and schools across the state.

National Endowment for the Humanities supports research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.

National Institutes of Health offers loan repayment programs in addition to grant opportunities.

National Science Foundation is the primary funding source for approximately 20 percent of all federally supported basic research conducted by America's colleges and universities.

Social Science Research Council is an independent, not-for-profit research organization founded in 1923 that mobilizes researchers, policy makers, professionals, activists, and other experts from the private and public sectors to develop innovative approaches to issues of critical social importance.
