Maps and GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
Geographic Information System (GIS) availability @ your Library
In May 2000, the Tulsa City-County Library began offering a Geographic Information
System (GIS) for public use. The GIS system can graphically display
inputted data, such as statistics from the Census Bureau, on a map .
In addition, aerial maps from the U.S. Geological Survey can be downloaded
and displayed on this system. Use of the system requires knowledge of
ArcView software. Librarians are available to help you create specific
maps by appointment. For more information on the use of the GIS system
see TCCL's GIS Policy.
