Bookmobile/Circulation Clerk

(bookmobile, partial week)

• Operates bookmobile vehicle and conducts scheduled site visits on a weekly basis, includes two evening shifts per week. Will occasionally be required to work weekend hours in order to participate in special events in and outside of the library system.
• Performs circulation duties using the automated system on wireless laptop systems.
• Provides readers advisory information with the assistance of the associates.
• Maintains supplies on bookmobile; ensures all items are on hand for visits
• Shelves books returned to circulation; maintains bookmobile shelves and performs periodic shelf checks to insure that materials are in good order.
• Performs general "housekeeping" and maintenance tasks to insure clean, orderly appearance of the bookmobile both inside and outside, such as filling the fuel tank and visual inspection for safety hazards; notifies Maintenance Department of necessary operational and mechanical issues.
• Prepares monthly reports of statistics for the bookmobile

(circulation clerk, partial week)

• Processes and returns materials.
• Processes new large-print materials received by the department; sorts donations to the department.
• Assists patrons, via telephone and in person, answering questions or assisting them in locating materials.
• Monitors and replenishes the department's office supplies to ensure that adequate supplies are on hand for the efficient operation of the department.
• Selects and gathers donated items to jails, group homes, detention centers, and shelters and keeps appropriate records.
• Maintains files and records; assists supervisor and other staff as needed. 
• Performs basic daily functions associated with the computer system, such as paging requests.
• May perform deliveries to YLC locations or homebound customers using Library vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
