Storytelling Festival Celebrates Legacy of Jeanne B. Goodwin

   Families are invited to let their imaginations soar during the annual Jeanne B. Goodwin Storytelling Festival July 3, 10-11 a.m., at the Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford.        

   Elizabeth Kahura returns as the featured storyteller.  Her “African Safari” performance will enlighten children about the untold story of Africa’s people, culture and geographical nature, while fostering an understanding and friendship between our continents.  Kahura will use music, performing arts and her “Folktales from Africa” to share the cultural richness of the African lifestyle.

An evening with New York Times best-selling author Dorothea Benton Frank

   Tulsa City-County Library invites you to spend an evening with beloved author Dorothea “Dottie” Benton Frank when she comes to Tulsa Tuesday, June 25 to promote her new book “The Last Original Wife.”

   The free presentation is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue. It is co-sponsored by William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.

Celebrate Family History Month with the Genealogy Center

   Share your family’s heritage with future generations by researching your roots and creating a family tree. Join Tulsa City-County Library’s Genealogy Center in July at its annual Family History Month series featuring a variety of programs for new genealogy researchers as well as lifetime enthusiasts.

2013 Asian-American Festival set for June 1

   Celebrate and learn about the customs and traditions of Asian-Americans with entertaining, educational events for the entire family as Tulsa City-County Library presents the 11th annual Asian-American Festival from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 at the Martin Regional Library, 2601 S. Garnett Road.

Library Installs New Hearing Loops

According to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, “Approximately 17 percent of American adults over the age of 55 report some degree of hearing loss.”

   Hearing loss is a common aspect of aging.  Tulsa City-County Library recognizes this is a hurdle to enjoying a full range of library programming.  TCCL recently installed an audio induction loop at these locations:
