CHUCK WAGON READIES KEY INGREDIENTS DISPLAY TO HIT THE TRAIL

   The Chuck wagon is getting ready to hit the trail.

   The last day to enjoy the Smithsonian Institution’s “Key Ingredients: America by Food” is Aug. 3, when it will roll out of the Collinsville Library, 1223 Main.  Since its opening on June 16, the display has helped customers explore the influences of culture, ethnicity, landscape and ritual on the food and flavors of our nation.

Great Lego Build Off Finals At Central Library

 

   All summer, children and teens have competed at various Tulsa City-County Libraries to build the best Lego creation.  Now they will face off for the ultimate in Lego building bragging rights.

   To qualify for the finals children built an original design based on the Summer Reading Program theme “Dream Big: Read.”  Teens created an original design based on the Summer Reading Program theme “Own the Night.”

Library Set to Talk Food During "Now Read This Take Five: The Food Edition"

 

   As part of Tulsa City-County Library’s “One Book, One Tulsa” initiative exploring food, health, gardening and sustainability, “Now Read This Take Five: The Food Edition” will focus on the role food plays in our lives.  Indulge your appetite for good reads, good eats and good conversations July 24, 7 p.m. in Central Library’s Aaronson Auditorium, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue.

Celebrate Woody Guthrie's 100th Birthday and Preview Official Exhibit

   Celebrate the legacy of one of Oklahoma’s most noted artists when Tulsa City-County Library recognizes the 100th birthday of Woody Guthrie and his music.     

“Chapters” Fundraiser to Benefit Library’s Literacy Service

   Spend an enjoyable evening after hours in the library with three favorite authors while helping raise money and awareness for Tulsa City-County Library’s Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service.

   In conjunction with National Literacy Awareness Month, Tulsa City-County Library and the Tulsa Library Trust are offering “Chapters: A Casual Evening of Books, Bards and Bites” on Friday, Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hardesty Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St. The cost is $50 per person. Deadline for reservations is Aug. 31.
