Become a Tutor
Thank you for your interest in becoming a tutor for the Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service. Our program depends upon dedicated volunteers who commit to spending 1 to 2 hours each week helping an adult improve his or her literacy skills.
To volunteer as a tutor you must:
- Be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or GED recipient;
- Satisfactorily complete the full tutor training workshop;
- Commit to tutoring at least once a week for one year; and
- Read and write at an 8th grade level.
