Outreach Services

It is the mission of the Outreach Services Department of the Tulsa City-County Library System to provide library services to those in the community who cannot come to the library themselves. The "Your Library Connection" and "Homebound" services focus on the elderly and disabled communities. The objective of the Bookmobile service is to promote the joy of reading to families and children who live in poverty.

Outreach Services is a department of the Tulsa City-County Library system. It is our job to provide library services to those who are physically, geographically, or economically unable to visit the library. We provide this service through several different programs and special collections.

Outreach Services maintains a collection of approximately 10,000 large print titles. A wide variety of fiction and non-fiction is available in large print, including bestsellers. Large print titles are located on the third floor of the Central Library and at every branch.

Bi-Folkal kits, ready made programs designed to stimulate memory in older adults, are also available.  These kits contain videos, slides, songbooks, and other items all centered around a theme.

Other available services include: Bookmobile Service, Homebound Service, Service to Jails, Detention Centers, and Shelters, and Services to Nursing Homes, Retirement Villages, and Assisted Living Centers

Brad Thomas , Managing Librarian of Outreach Services, would be glad to come and talk to your church, school, or social group about the programs provided by TCCL for the disabled, elderly, and incarcerated citizens of the Tulsa area. Please call 549-7480 to make arrangements for a speaker.
