Aunt Chick

Tulsa entrepreneur and inventor Nettie McBirney became known as 'Aunt Chick' to housewives across the nation when she wrote the Tulsa Daily World cooking column from the 1930's until the early 1950's. Aunt Chick also gave culinary lectures and designed cookie cutters, pie tins, and pastry cloths which earned her international recognition. Aunt Chick donated her cookbooks to the Tulsa City-County Library, and the Library still receives requests for information regarding this exceptional lady.

Nettie McBirney died on Thursday, 16 December 1982. She was 96 years old at the time of her death.
