Notes: 

There are several non-profit agencies and businesses in Tulsa which help children obtain clothing, shoes, coats and other necessary items for school. Items in parentheses have offered services in previous years but are unconfirmed for 2017 as of 8/7/17.

Starting 8/16, all Tulsa Public School elementary students automatically enrolled in the free and reduced meal program.  All TPS high school students ride Tulsa Transit free with school ID.

  • BACK TO SCHOOL BASH AND RESOURCE FAIR. Martin Regional Library, 2601 S Garnett. 8/15/17 9-11 School supplies for first 200, immunizations and vision screenings. No income requirement, children must be present.
  • BACK TO SCHOOL EXPO. Cox Expo Center at Fair Grounds, 4145 E 21st. 8/12/17 9-2. Backpacks and school supplies for first 3000, immunizations, and screenings, haircuts and entertainment.
  • BOYS, BOOKS AND BARBER CUTOFF: Greenwood Cultural Center 8/12/17 signup. 11-2, 8/13 cuts 8-12. Pre-registration required. Free haircuts and school supplies.  Boys  K-8 receive haircut, books, backpacks, and refreshments. 918-596-1020.
  • BIXBY OUTREACH CENTER. 8/10/17 4-6.  114 Breckenridge, BX.  Students of Bixby, Keifer, Mounds, Haskell, Glenpool, Jenks, Leonard, and Liberty schools. 918-366-9266.
  • BROKEN ARROW NEIGHBORS BACK TO SCHOOL 8/7-17/17 315 W College, BA. 9-4 M-Thur. Free schol supplies for qualifying families. Must present proof of address, income, ID for all adults, birth certificates and immunization records for all children. 
  • CHEROKEE NATION HUMAN SERVICES. Provides $100 clothing vouchers for qualified Cherokee Nation tribal citizen students (K-12), distributed in July (918) 453-5422
  • CHRISTIAN MINISTERS ALLIANCE BACK TO SCHOOL BASH. TTC 3420 S Memorial 8/19/17 11-2. 918-828-5000.
  • CLARY SAGE AND OKLAHOMA TECHNICAL COLLEGE CUTS FOR KIDS: Haircuts, CSC 3131 S Sheridan Rd 9-9 918-610-0027, 8/7/17-8/8/17. Also offered over winter break, at Oklahoma Technical College 4444 S Sheridan.
  • (CORNROWS AND HAIRCUTS for kids. 8/19 9-4 Academy Central, 1789 W Seminole, free braids and cuts for kids under 12 with reservation, 858-255-4167. 
  • DENTAL SCREENINGS.  Oklahoma Dental Association participating members provide free screenings for Back to School with a Healthy Smile.  See link above for details.
  • (DREAM CENTER BACK TO SCHOOL OUTREACH. 200 W 46th St N. Boys: 8/21/16 12-3, Girls: 8/21/16 10-2, pre-K-8, school supplies, food and haircuts. Walkins welcome. 
  • (HUTCHERSON YMCA. 1120 E Pine St. 8/13/16, noon.  Backpacks and school supplies for first 100 students present.  Sponsored by Gary Davis Law Group and Vision in Progress.
  • JOHNSON-O'MALLEY PROGRAM. Federally funded program providing school uniform assistance to Native American children. Administered through individual school districts; contact your child's school for details.
  • MINISTERIAL ALLIANCE BACK TO SCHOOL BASH. 8/13/17 2-5. TTC Sand Springs, 924 Charles Page Blvd. School supplies, flu shots, bouncy castle.
  • NEIGHBOR FOR NEIGHBOR collects clothing all year and distributes to those in need. See entry under this heading for details. 918-425-5578.
  • OPERATION SCHOOL BELL. Program through the Assistance League of Tulsa provides new clothing. Referral is through school counselors. Items for each child include a coat, shoes, gloves, hat, health kit and two complete school outfits. Accepts donations to Sock Market. 918-832-8832.
  • NEW HEIGHTS CHURCH OWASSO 106 N Main.  Back-to-School Mission 8/2/17 8-2  Backpacks with school supplies, school clothes, haircuts, immunizations, eye screenings and dental exams.

  • PASS. Partnership for the Availability of School Supplies (PASS) TULSA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION coordinates the Partnership for the Availability of School Supplies (PASS). Purchases and distributes school supplies to participating elementary schools. 918-494-8823.
  • RESTORE HOPE. 2960 Charles Page, 7/31/17-8/4/17 and 8/7/17-8/10/17 9.30-11.30 and 1-3. School supplies and immunizations for Tulsa County public school children, K-12, must bring ID, Social Security cards and birth certificates.  (918) 582-5766.
  • SAND SPRINGS COMMUNITY SERVICES. 8/14/17 10-2 and 6-8, 8/15-16/17 10-2. 4114 W 4th St Provides school supplies and clothing voucher. Recipients must be enrolled in Sand Springs schools and must qualify for free lunches.  918-245-5183.
