Genealogy Center’s Map Collection Online Index
Many maps useful to historical and genealogical research are located in the Genealogy Center. This database is an index to the Genealogy Center’s Map Collection.

All materials located in the Genealogy Center are for in-library use only. The index is still being compiled and records continue to be added to the database. If you do not find the map you seek in the database or have any questions about the Map Collection, please contact the Genealogy Center by telephone, 918.746.5222, or .

The following map collections are housed at the Research Center at Central Library. For more information about the collections please call 918.596.7977.

General Land Office Plat Maps @ the Library
The Research Center at the Central Library houses in its map collection several sets of GLO Plat maps. These historical maps are hand-drawn and at their most detailed include trees, lakes, rivers, railroads, houses and fields of different types. They are mainly used by surveyors and researchers.

Historic Building Resources at Tulsa City-County Library
See historic downtown photographs from the Beryl Ford Collection, and discover what is available through the local history collection at Tulsa City-County Library. Our Tulsa Buildings archive offers a building-by-building account of downtown’s development through original documents, including newspaper articles, brochures, blueprints, and more.

Historical Tulsa & Oklahoma Maps
This collection of historical Oklahoma maps is housed in the workroom of the Research Center.

Oklahoma County General Highway Maps
These county maps were produced by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation Planning Division. The Research Center has maps for every county in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma/Indian Territory & Early Oklahoma Statehood Maps
An index for the USGS Indian Territory topographic series of maps available at the Research Center.

Topographic Maps @ the Library
Topographic maps illustrate the lay of the land. With the use of contour lines, these maps effectively depict hills, mountains, plains, and valleys. The Research Center houses in its map collection several series of USGS topographic maps.

Older Edition Oklahoma Topographic Maps (in storage)
This collection of older topographic maps is housed in the storage area for the Research Center.

Oklahoma Geological and Mineral Maps II
Most types of maps show man-made or natural features found on the earth’s surface. Geologic maps are different from other maps since they typically show what is beneath the surface of the earth. The Research Center has a number of geological and mineral maps for the State of Oklahoma and many other states.
