I'm Taking A Trip This Summer And Need To Learn How To Communicate With The Locals. Can The Library Help Me Learn A Foreign Language?

Yes, we have a database called Mango that is great for learning or practicing a foreign language. The lessons use a combination of audio and visual cues to give a more comprehensive guide to understanding words and phrases. When using Mango, you have the option of creating an account in order to keep track of your progress through the lessons. Mango provides basic courses in over 70 languages and dialects, including Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish, and many more. There are also a number of ESL courses available, as well as a course in the Cherokee language.

To access this database, simply perform a title search in our catalog for ‘Mango Languages' or go to the M section of our databases list in the library's Research page.
