The Presidential debates have started, which means the election is around the corner. What sort of information does the library have on the candidates and ballot questions?

Our Government Documents page has a section on the 2012 election, including lists of the candidates for Federal and State Offices, and information on the six state questions that Oklahomans are being asked to decide. The page also includes a number of voter guides from outside sources such as the League of Women Voters and various newspapers, both local and nationwide. The Election Basics tab provides some general material on the voting process, as well as links to websites for political parties and governmental election agencies. The Government Documents page can be found in our Research tab.

You will also find a calendar noting the dates of elections and registration deadlines. Be aware that the deadline to register to vote in the November 6th general election is Friday, October 12th!
