Chuck Palahniuk's Pajama Party for Adults

Book Smart Tulsa and the Tulsa Library Trust present an intimate evening with Chuck Palahniuk, author of “Fight Club,” with special guests Monica Drake and Chelsea Cain, Oct. 8, doors open at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m., in the recently closed and now spooky Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue.
Participants, ages 18 and up, can meet and mingle with Palahniuk, enjoy snacks, hear live music and enjoy a cash bar with themed drinks.  Lots of surprises are in store to keep the evening mysterious.
Admission requires the purchase of Palahniuk’s new novel, “Doomed.” One book purchase allows for two guests.  Books will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at 41st and Yale.  Attendees will be given a receipt and two wristbands.  Books will be picked up the night of the event. You must bring your receipt and wristbands to claim your book and gain entry.  Books and tickets also will be sold the day of the event at Central Library in Aaronson Auditorium, starting at 4 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Tulsa City-County Library’s and the Tulsa Library Trust’s Central Library Renewed campaign.
This is a themed event. In addition to the usual Chuck-directed fun (trivia prizes, toys, other shenanigans), two of his friends, Monica Drake and Chelsea Cain, who are fellow writers of their own dark-humored esteem, will join in! In keeping with the theme, attendees are encouraged to wear their best sleepwear and bring a pillow or stuffed animal to keep them feeling safe from the monsters that might be lurking in the shadows.  Appropriate pajama attire, please – it’s still a library after all.
In order to have a long, fantastically rich event and save you the trouble of waiting in line for hours, Chuck will sign books in advance instead of at the event.
