Step 1: Signing up for cloudLibrary

  • You will need:

    • A valid library card
    • Internet access
    • A compatible device (e.g. computer, tablet, ereader, smartphone, etc)
      • cloudLibrary is available for iOS, Android, Computer, Kindle Fire, and NOOK

  • Creating an account:  

    • As a member of the library, you have an account with cloudLibrary. You can log in by using your library card number and your Tulsa City-County Library password.    
    • Your library card number is the 14-digit number on the back of your card underneath the barcode. Make sure to enter it with all the numbers and no spaces.

Step 2: Downloading the cloudLibrary App

  • Go to the Google Play Store, search for cloudLibrary and download and install it.

Step 3: Downloading a book

  • Find the book you want with the search box and tap the book cover.
  • Tap the green Borrow box to check out the book.
  • Tap the book cover to download the book.
  • After the book is downloaded, cloudLibrary will automatically open to the first page.

Installing the CloudLibrary App On the Kindle Fire

You can download the Cloud Library app on Kindle Fire devices that are able to run Android 4.0.3 and up or Fire OS 10.5.1 as seen here: https://www.yourcloudlibrary.com/kindle-fire-installation/

Step 1: Allow 3rd Party installations:

  • Go to Settings on your device.
  • Select Applications
  • Set Apps from Unknown Sources to On.

  • Go to yourcloudlibrary.com
  • Select the Kindle Fire app icon towards the bottom:    
  • Follow the directions to download the app.
    • If it doesn’t appear right away, swipe down from the top to view your Notification bar.
  • Tap on the “CloudLibrary” file to start the download and tap “Install.” Once installed, tap “Open.”

Step 3: Log into the app using your library card number and PIN/Password.

  • Once the app is open, tap the screen and it will prompt you to choose your state, library system, and finally ask for your library card number and PIN/Password.
    • The PIN/Password is the same as your online TCCL account. If you do not have a PIN/Password, contact Customer Care at 918-549-7323.

Checking Out And Downloading Titles

  • Access the catalog by either: Tapping the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner and selecting Browse or Featured to search by genre or Searching in the upper right corner and clicking the magnifying glass.
  • Tap the cover image of the book and tap Borrow to check it out or Hold to be put on the waiting list.
  • To download the title, tap the 3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner and choose My Books.
  • Tap the cover image of the item to start the download.
  • Once downloaded, the eBook will automatically appear. You can also access downloaded books by clicking the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner and selecting My Books.

  • Click the green Borrow box to check out the book.

Step 4: Transferring a Book to your NOOK HD

  • Connect your NOOK HD or NOOK Glowlight Plus to your computer with a USB cable
  • A separate window will pop up when your computer recognizes the NOOK HD. Look for the folder under your NOOK that says My Files.                                                                                        
  • In the CloudLibrary App on your computer click on View Book Files. It’s located in the lower right of the screen.
  • Copy & Paste or Drag & Drop the ebook you want to transfer from your computer to the My Files folder on your NOOK.
  • The ebook should be available under the Library tab of your NOOK HD.
  • Eject your NOOK HD from your computer.

  • After the book is downloaded, press Play to start the audiobook.

Step 2: Installing Adobe Digital Editions

  • After Adobe Digital Editions is installed, it should open automatically (if not, double-click the desktop icon). On the menu bar, click on Help, then click Authorize Computer
  • Enter your Adobe ID and password and click Authorize

         OR

  • Click on Create an Adobe ID to visit Adobe's website and create an Adobe ID
    • After creating an Adobe ID, enter your ID and Password and click Authorize.

Step 3: Downloading an eBook

  • Go to Freading to find an eBook.
  • Find the eBook you want to read and click on the eBook's cover. Then click Login to Download.
  • Enter your library card number and last name. Then click Login.
    • If Freading says your lending limit has been reached and this is your first time logging into Freading, log out and log back in, this should fix the problem.
  • Click Download EPUB (or Download PDF if that's the only option) to download the eBook to your computer. If prompted, choose to open the file instead of saving it (If you do choose to save the file to your computer, be sure you know the default location where downloaded files are saved).
  • If you chose to open the file, Adobe Digital Editions should automatically open the eBook after it has downloaded. If you chose to save the file, navigate to the location where it is saved and double-click on it to open it with Adobe Digital Editions.

Step 2: Downloading the Freading App

  • The easiest way to get Freading on your Kindle Fire is to use a website called SlideMe.
  • Make sure you have enabled "Download from unknown sources" in the device settings. This is different depending on the model of Kindle Fire. In general this is done by:
    • Opening your notifications bar.
    • Select "More" to go to your device's settings.
    • Select "Device".
    • Slide bar to ON for "Allow Installation of Applications From Unknown Sources".

  • Go to http://m.slideme.org and type "Freading" in the search box
  • Click on the "Freading" icon and you will be led to a page where you can download the app
  • Click the button that reads "Download" located right above the app's description.
  • The application will download, but will not install automatically. Once the file downloads, look for a notification indicating there has been a download. Typically this will display in the notification bar at the top of the screen, and you will be able to drag down from the top to view the recent downloads. If you do not see it here, please look under "My Downloads" within your browser. You will be able to find this within your browser's menu.
  • Tap the download, and this will begin the installation process.
  • Once installed, you will need to authenticate the app with your Adobe ID.

Step 3: Downloading an eBook

  • Tap the Get Books icon in the lower right.

Step 1: Signing up for Hoopla

  • You will need: 

    • A computer or supported device (a list of supported Android devices can be found here and a list of supported iOS and Amazon devices can be found here.)
    • TCCL library card
    • An e-mail address
    • Internet connection
  •  Creating an account:

    • First-time users need to register to set up a Hoopla account. Visit Hoopla's TCCL catalog and click the Sign Up button in the top right corner.
    • You will be prompted to provide a e-mail and password. (This password is solely for your Hoopla account.)
    • Select Tulsa City-County Library and provide your library card number.
    • Once you click Sign Me Up you should be signed into your Hoopla account.

  • You can download the Hoopla Digital App to most mobile devices by going to the Google Play Store. (For a complete list of compatible devices, go here for Android devices.)          
  • Once you have downloaded the app, open it and log in with the e-mail and password you created in the Hoopla registration process.
  • Once you are signed in, you will be taken to the TCCL Hoopla catalog

Step 3: Using Hoopla on your Android Device

Using Hoopla on your Apple or Android TV

You can download the Hoopla app on your Apple or Android TV by going to the app store on your TV. In the app store, search for "Hoopla" & install the app.

The first time you load the app on your TV, you will be asked to go to https://www.hoopladigital.com/link and enter the 4-digit code on your screen. After entering the code, the Hoopla app on your TV will be synced to your existing Hoopla account. From here you can browse & borrow Movie & TV titles from Hoopla as well as browse & borrow from your "favorites" list.

 

Using Hoopla on your Fire TV

On Fire TV, instead of browsing and installing apps directly on your TV screen, you can use the Amazon app store to "send" applications to your devices. To install the Hoopla app, first search for "Hoopla" in the Fire TV app store or go directly there by clicking here.

On this screen, select the Fire TV device on which you’d like to install the app and click "Deliver".

In a few moments, you should see the Hoopla app. Keep in mind, to find the app, you may have to navigate to end of the "Your Apps and Games" section and click "See All." Once you find the app, you can press the option button to choose to move it higher on the list.

The first time you load the app on your TV, you will be asked to go to https://www.hoopladigital.com/link and enter the 4-digit code on your screen.   • Tap Library in the lower left corner.

What is Libby?

  • Libby is Overdrive’s new app, designed to be simpler and easier to use.

Step 1: Signing up for Libby

  • You will need:
    • A valid library card
    • Internet access
    • A compatible device
      • Right now Libby is only available for iOS, Android, or Windows computers.

Step 2: Downloading the Libby App

When you open Libby for the first time, it will walk you through the set up.

  • First it will ask if you have a library card, and then it will ask to find your library.
    • You have two options, you can either Search For A Library or you can have the app Guess My Library. (The Guess My Library feature only works if you have Location Tracking enabled.)
  • After you find Tulsa City-County Library, tap This Is My Library.
  • Next, Libby will ask if you primarily read on a Kindle or on your device. Because Libby is run by Overdrive, you do have the option to have your books delivered to a Kindle.
  • Finally, Libby will ask you to sign in with your library card.
    • Unlike in Overdrive, this will be the only time you sign in with your library card.

  • After Adobe Digital Editions is installed, it should open automatically (if not, double-click the desktop icon). On the menu bar, click on Help, then click Authorize Computer
  • Enter your Adobe ID and password and click Authorize
    • OR
  • Click on Create an Adobe ID to visit Adobe's website and create an Adobe ID
    • After creating an Adobe ID, enter your ID and Password and click Authorize.

Step 3: Checking out an eBook

  • Go to Overdrive to find an eBook.
  • Find the eBook you want to read and click Borrow. Login with your library card number when prompted and Borrow the book.
  • From here you have two options:
    • Read in your browser with Overdrive READ
      • Click Read Now in Browser with Overdrive READ for this option
    • Download the book to your computer and read it with Adobe Digital Editions.
      • Continue to Step 4 for this option

 

Step 4: Downloading an eBook

  • Click Download EPUB (or Download PDF if that's the only option) to download the eBook to your computer. If prompted, choose to open the file instead of saving it (If you do choose to save the file to your computer, be sure you know the default location where downloaded files are saved).
  • If you chose to open the file, Adobe Digital Editions should automatically open the eBook after it has downloaded. If you chose to save the file, navigate to the location where it is saved and double-click on it to open it with Adobe Digital Editions.

  • Search for the book you want to borrow.
  • Limit your search on the left side of the screen by Kindle Book.
  • Click Borrow and sign into the library.
  • Choose how long you’d like to borrow the book and click Borrow again.
  • Select Read now with Kindle.

Step 3: Delivering your book to your Kindle

  • After selecting Read now with Kindle you’ll be taken to Amazon to finish borrowing your book and send it to your Kindle.
  • Click Get Library Book and sign into Amazon.
  • Choose which device you’d like to deliver the book to.

Step 4: Reading your Kindle Book

  • Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi to download the book.
    • If you do not have Wi-Fi on your device, go to Manage Your Content and Devices on Amazon’s website.
    • Find the book and click the three dots next to it.
    • Click Download & transfer via USB and follow the prompts.
  • After the book is downloaded, tap the cover to read it.

  • First create an account on PressReader’s website.

  • Search for Tulsa City-County Library. Click on it.
  • Enter your library card number and your password that you log into the library’s website with. Click Sign In.
  • When you first sign in, PressReader will have you enter an email and password, these do not have to be the same as the email and password you use with the library.

Step 3: Downloading the PressReader App
