Mission

The mission of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Society is to perpetuate the dreams, aspirations and non-violent philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and to work toward the realization of this dream through education.

Services and Programs

•  Annual MLK parade on Martin Luther King Day - 3rd Monday in January at 11:00 AM. This event is normally televised on KTUL Channel 8
• Walk In Peace on the 3rd Sunday in January at 5:30 PM
• MLK Commemorative Service on the 3rd Sunday in January at 6:00 PM
• MLK Commemoration Society Founders Community Breakfast - 3rd Monday in January 8:00-10:30 AM - First Baptist Church North Tulsa, 1414 N Greenwood Avenue
• Student educational events usually include: Student Leadership Forum, Student contests and awards ceremony
• Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarships for eligible high school graduates.
• Speakers - On peace and justice, non-violent social change and history of the civil rights movement.
