Mission

The Tulsa Garden Center, located in the historic Snedden Mansion within Woodward Park, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve as Tulsa’s horticultural headquarters with diverse educational opportunities, and to provide exceptional and unique guest experiences within Woodward Park.

The Tulsa Garden Center fulfills this role by offering numerous lectures, classes, training, plant shows, and special events throughout the year, which are predominantly free for its Members. Additionally, 17 affiliated organizations such as the Audubon Society, the Sierra Club, the Tulsa Rose Society, and the Tulsa Garden Club, call Woodward Park home for their horticultural and environmental activities, supplementing our extensive list of educational opportunities with even more events open the public.

Programs and Services

Managing all educational programming, volunteers, and events within the 45-acre Woodward Park and Gardens campus, the Tulsa Garden Center operates via a 99-year contract with the City of Tulsa and the Tulsa Parks Board. We serve as an advising partner, park permit operator, and educational program provider, helping to ensure the Snedden estate, Tulsa Rose Garden, Arboretum, Conservatory, and surrounding Woodward Park campus are cared for and properly maintained for future generations.

Guided by our 5-Year Strategic Plan, our educational programming includes a demonstration garden called the Teaching Garden, adult education classes, and an Outdoor Classroom program for 5th grade students experiencing STEM inequities.
