Mission

Justice For Greenwood's mission is to secure justice and reparations for the Greenwood community and Diaspora through direct services, public education, and advocacy.

Programs and Services

  • Through the We Are Greenwood Oral History Project we collect the stories, fully document, amplify, and preserve the true history of Greenwood, Black Wall Street, the Massacre, and the lived and inherited experiences of those impacted.
  • Through the We Are Greenwood Genealogy Project we work with world-class Genealogist to research, identify, and document the familial lineage of the victims that experienced the Tulsa Race Massacre, its immediate aftermath, and their descendants.
  • Through the Legal and Policy Advocacy Program we identify, educate, and advocate for the policies and initiatives that will restore the wealth, property, and ‘rights and dignity’ of the Greenwood community and Diaspora.
  • Through the Legacy Fund we aim to raise and distribute $200M (equal to the estimated value of the property loss in today’s dollars) in the form of grants and scholarships to Massacre Survivors, Descendants, and Black Tulsans to mitigate the continuing harm resulting from the Massacre.
  • Through the BTW Initiative we educate about Greenwood and those who lived there as well as Black Wall Street and the wealth generated.
