Calling all Whovians! Enter your TARDIS and journey through time and space to Hardesty Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St., for the free family event “Celebrate Doctor Who!” Saturday, Aug. 15, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Families will enjoy playing games and testing their Whovian knowledge as they explore the popular sci-fi television series. There will be plenty of family photo-ops with reenactors from the group “Tulsa Star Force”, a life-size TARDIS, and cardboard stand ups of the latest Doctor Who and current villains.
Choose a character from any incarnation of the series, from a Dalek to Doctor Who, and compete in a costume contest. Themed prizes for first-, second- and third-place winners will be awarded in two age categories: 15 and under, and 16 and up.
A display of library Doctor Who materials featuring books, complete season series, audio books and original soundtracks will be available to library customers for check out.
“This celebration is all about the great sci-fi series, from games like Doctor Who Clue and Jenga to Doctor Who themed food and crafts,” said Carissa Kellerby, Hardesty Regional Library assistant manager. “It will certainly be a fun journey through a time traveling world.”
