Library Launches Expanded Free Online Learning for Customers

   Tulsa City-County Library is launching a new online video learning tool to help students and adults achieve their professional goals on their schedule.

   Through the Lynda.com service, library customers have free access to more than 3,000 professional courses and more than 150,000 streaming videos presented by industry experts.  These resources can be accessed from any Tulsa City-County Library location, from your home or office computer, or through mobile devices like tablets and smartphones.  To create an account, visit Tulsa City-County Library’s website, www.tulsalibrary.org and click on the “Learn Something New” button.

   Completion certificates for courses can be printed or added to LinkedIn accounts.  Integrating certifications into this popular professional social media platform will help customers demonstrate proficiency to potential employers at a glance.

   The service is ideal for students, anyone in career transition, looking for new employment or seeking to enhance their skill set.  

   Lynda.com helps anyone learn business, software, technology and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals.  In keeping with Tulsa City-County Library’s goal of facilitating lifelong learning and access to information for all, the library is providing customers free full access to these engaging and educational courses.        

   Examples of courses include: animation, audio, web design, business, marketing, design, computer technology, photography and video as well as Microsoft Office and the Adobe Suite of products.   Courses also are available in German-, French- and Spanish-language.
