Touch-a-Truck Event to Super Size Owasso Library

Through a child’s eyes everyday occurrences seem larger than life and sometimes out of reach.

Families are invited to explore and discover dozens of big trucks and emergency vehicles during “Touch-A-Truck.”  The Owasso Library, 103 W. Broadway, will transform the parking lot into a child’s perfect playground, April 25, 10 a.m.-Noon.

“A child can come to the library to check out a book and read about fire engines or dump trucks. By providing an event where they can touch and sit in the trucks, honk the horns, and talk to the operators, we are giving them an entirely different learning experience,” said Jennifer McQuade, Owasso Library branch manager.  “This kind of experience can spark a child’s imagination and possibly even lead to a future career.”

John Dellavadova will provide family music during the program to keep toes tapping as families view the vehicles.  Children will receive a free book, tote bag and construction hat while supplies last.  Food and drinks are available for purchase from two food trucks: Shivers Snoballs and Tulsa Kettle Corn.

“Touch-A-Truck” is sponsored by Flint Family Foundation and Tulsa City-County Library, with additional support provided by the Mary K. Chapman Foundation and George Kaiser Family Foundation.
