   Squeeze a little extra art into your day with “Music Sandwiched In,” a biweekly series of performances from local musicians every other Monday between June 9 and July 21 at Central Library from 12:10-12:50 p.m. This all-ages series, sponsored by the Tulsa Library Trust, is free and open to the public.
  “Music Sandwiched In” is one of the featured event series offered as part of the 2025 Summer Reading Program, “Color Our World,” a free, all-ages program offered from June 2 through July 31. You can register for the Summer Reading Program starting June 2 at any Tulsa City-County Library location or online at www.TulsaLibrary.org/summer.
  Featured Music Sandwiched In performances include:
•    June 9 with jazz pianist Don Ryan. Don Ryan has delighted audiences throughout the world, including at Carnegie Hall. He has the unique distinction of receiving both a diploma and special award at the International Frederic Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland (1975) as well as having been inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame (2006).
    June 23 with singer Sam Briggs. Briggs has performed across Oklahoma for over a decade. His credits include George (“Sunday in the Park With George”), Curly (“Oklahoma!”), Jervis (“Daddy Long Legs”), Anthony (“Sweeney Todd”) and Marius (“Les Miserables”) to name a few. Briggs was the grand-prize winner of Signature Symphony’s Tulsa Sings! in 2019 and is a Tate-winning actor for his work in Theatre Tulsa’s Amadeus. 
•    July 7 with harpist Lorelei Barton. Harpist Lorelei Barton’s extensive repertoire includes classical, Latin, Broadway, pop/jazz and holiday music. She has performed with Tulsa Philharmonic, Tulsa Symphony, Oklahoma City Symphony, Bartlesville Symphony, Arkansas Symphony and others. A teacher as well as a performer, Barton not only plays but engages with her audiences on how the harp works and takes questions.
•    July 21 with vocalist Janet Rutland. The Music Sandwiched In series will conclude with vocalist Janet Rutland, a versatile artist with decades of performance experience who offers a diverse repertoire consisting of vintage jazz, pop and country music. A native of Sand Springs, Rutland has performed extensively throughout the Tulsa area for many years and is a longtime fixture in the mid-America music and theater scene with club, theater and concert hall performances in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Missouri.
