   Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) invites local entrepreneurs to receive expert input on beginning or strengthening their small business through the Grow Academy, available for free to TCCL cardholders. The 10-month program is designed to empower small-business owners by connecting them to library and community resources. 

   From October 2022-August 2023, the Grow Academy will help a cohort of 35 individuals start or develop a small business. Monthly Saturday classes from 10 a.m.-noon at Central Library, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue, will cover everything participants need to know to build a business plan. Each class will include advice from industry experts and instruction on how to utilize free library resources to gather vital data needed for a business plan and market research.  

      Those who complete the entire program will receive a certificate of completion. Additionally, participants will receive a workbook to accompany classes, access to cohort-only breakout sessions and a curated booklist with supplemental learning resources available through TCCL’s catalog. 

   Grow Academy’s 2022-2023 meeting dates are Oct. 22, Nov. 19, Jan. 28, Feb. 25, March 25, April 22, May 27, June 24, July 22 and Aug. 26. Grow Academy will not meet in December.  

   Those interested in joining the Grow Academy must fill out an application by visiting www.Tulsalibrary.org/grow-academy or by picking up a print copy from the Research Center, located on the third floor of Central Library. Applications are due by Oct. 1. 

   In addition to the 35-student cohort, walk-ins are welcome at each month’s Grow Academy class. Interested participants can attend a single class without applying and without attending other sessions, but all Grow Academy classes have limited space and require registration.
