TULSA, Okla. --- Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) invites the community to enjoy an evening of poetry, spoken word, storytelling and art at VERSES, an annual fundraiser benefiting TCCL’s Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Central Library, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue.
VERSES focuses on immersive and collaborative art experiences, readings and other performances. The goal of the event is to raise awareness of the need for adult literacy services, celebrate Tulsa’s diverse creative voices and build connections between artists and the community.
Reading and spoken-word performances include:

Interactive activities include:
- writing workshop with Sir Princess Brutus (Something Involving a Mailbox, LLC)
- weaving with Kilo
- come-and-go haikus with JB Nicholson Hunt
- writing station with K! Collective
- embodied yoga with Lily Owens (Open Eye Yoga)
- collaborative felt patch-making station with January Vogel (Dangit Design)
In addition, portrait photography from Gary Mason (nosamyrag) will be on display and a musical performance will be provided by Mercy Teague and Frank Gallagher (Nightlight Dawning).
