Skiatook Library, 316 E. Rogers, will reopen at noon on Thursday, May 16. The library was closed for repairs after minor damage from a broken sewage line.

Library staff is excited to welcome customers back to the book stacks just in time to experience “A Universe of Stories” during TCCL’s 2019 summer reading program.

The annual program is ongoing May 28-Aug. 3 and is filled with free programs and chances to earn great prizes. To sign up, children and teens, newborn to 17, and adults can register at any of TCCL’s 24 locations or the bookmobile. For a complete list of programs, prizes and rules visit www.TulsaLibrary.org/summer.

The summer reading program is a fun way to keep students reading throughout the summer to help retain and improve their reading skills. Parents and grandparents know the library is full of “A Universe of Stories” and by joining the summer reading program, children will acquire this same fondness for literacy. The program goes beyond the books by offering hundreds of family programs to expand the imagination. Performers and presenters from Tulsa and across the U.S. participate to help bring books to life. Children, as well as adults, will enjoy performances from Tommy Terrific, Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, 123 Andres!, Will Parker and many more entertaining and educational performers.
