Calling all aspiring and published authors. TCCL invites you to learn proven ways to hone your wordsmith skills and achieve your dream of becoming an award-winning author.

The “Local Author Mini-Con” is scheduled for Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Central Library’s Pocahontas Greadington Learning & Creativity Center, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue. Breakfast and coffee are provided. This program is free for teens and adults. A local author book fair is featured on Central Library’s first floor from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The day begins with a keynote address from Oklahoma author Tracie Sorrel. Following the opening session, attendees can participate in inspiring sessions on a variety of publishing topics like Wattpad for writers, editing Q&A, writing for youth and more. Tulsa Artist Fellow Melanie Gillman will close the day with motivating words to help create descriptive stories.

Authors also can receive a free head shot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Throughout the day, readers can browse and purchase works written by local authors, and meet and talk with Oklahoma authors. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day, including a free 20-page critique from Nimrod editor Cassidy McCants.
