TCCL continues the “Novel Talk: Smart Conversations for Serious Readers” series with “The Future is Now,” June 4, 7 p.m. in Central Library’s Pocahontas Greadington Learning and Creativity Center, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue.

Using Philip K. Dick’s classic “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” examine how the sci-fi genre envisions the past, present and future, and what fictional premonitions say about technological, societal and environmental realities of today.

KJRH anchor Karen Larsen will moderate the panel discussion. Speakers include: Dr. Brian Cowlishaw, English professor, Northeastern State University; Stewart Brower, director, OU-Tulsa’s Schusterman Library; and Deborah Hunter, case manager, Family & Children’s Services.

“Novel Talk” is part of TCCL’s adult summer reading program. Adults can complete the program by reading or listening to four books to earn free treats and entertainment, as well as a ceramic space shuttle mug. Enjoy free entertainment and food coupons from these sponsors.
