The Tulsa City-County Library stands with the American Library Association and Urban Libraries Council in support of all who are calling for immediate, collective action to end the systemic racism and inequity entrenched in our communities.

TCCL has been at the forefront of bringing awareness and understanding of race relations through the early creation of our three resources centers: African-American Resource Center, Hispanic Resource Center and American Indian Resource Center. The work of these centers continues to amplify the contributions of people of color to bring about conversations of equality and celebrate our differences.

Beyond this statement, a commitment to creating a more just and inclusive world is foundational to the very institutions of libraries. And TCCL will continue to do its part both with actions and words to break down systemic inequities.
