Tulsa City-County Library is connecting library customers to the magazines, newspapers and information they enjoy with free digital versions of their favorite periodicals.
With Zinio, customers can choose from more than 140 magazines, like National Geographic, Rolling Stone, and US Weekly as well as children’s and Spanish selections. Finding your favorite magazine is as easy as browsing by category or title. Downloaded magazines have no due dates and are yours to keep. Library customers can read them anytime, anywhere – either on PC, Mac or other mobile devices. Apps are available for iPad, iPhone, Android and Kindle Fire.
Another exciting service is Newspaper Direct, offering instant access to more than 2,200 newspapers from 97 countries in 54 languages, with more than 1,200 in English. Customers can download full-content newspapers like Tulsa World, Boston Herald and Washington Post for free at any library location, or stream newspapers from a computer or mobile device.
“Providing digital magazines and newspapers is the next step in meeting the needs of library customers,” said Sue Anderson, TCCL’s Collection Management manager. “Not only do the services provide greater access to information and knowledge, they do so in an environmentally friendly manner.”
A library card is the key to accessing these valuable library resources. Anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Tulsa County is eligible to apply for a free library card.
