TCCL’s After-School Homework Club seeks volunteers to help students succeed

Tulsa City-County Library is looking for adult volunteers to provide extra homework help for elementary and middle school students in the After-School Homework Club.

As a “homework coach,” you will share your knowledge with students who need a little extra help with their assignments. For as little as one hour a week you can make a difference in a student’s successful educational progress.

Any Tulsa County student in third- through eighth-grade can sign up for help in the free program. After-School Homework Clubs offer one-on-one homework assistance to help students gain a better understanding of their school courses. It is also an opportunity to highlight the many educational services TCCL has for students and families.

The 2018-19 school year marks the sixth year for TCCL to offer the After-School Homework Club @ Your Library. Last year, more than 180 students regularly attended sessions to seek professional expertise in core subjects.

Starting Sept. 1, parents can register students online. After-School Homework Clubs start one-on-one sessions at these libraries on Sept. 17:

     Monday-Thursday, 3:30-6 p.m.
