Welcome to the Nonprofit Resource Center

The Nonprofit Resource Center at Tulsa City-County Library provides visitors with free public access to the tools needed to form a nonprofit organization, search funding opportunities, write grant proposals, and learn about the world of philanthropy. 

The Nonprofit Resource Center is located at the Central Library. We are a Funding Information Network partner of Candid and offer access to a wide range of print and electronic resources. The Nonprofit Resource Center is open and available to the public during regular library hours.

  • GuideStar 
    GuideStar includes profiles on every IRS-registered nonprofit organization, including the nonprofit's mission, legitimacy, impact, reputation, finances, programs, transparency, governance, and more.
  • JustGiving 
    JustGiving (formerly JustGive) aims to increase overall giving by connecting people to the charities and causes.

Create a List of Nonprofit Organizations

Use the Internal Revenue Service's  Tax Exempt Organization Search database to create a list of nonprofit organizations in a specified geographic region. This database may also be used to find:

  • Organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions
  • Organizations that have had their tax-exempt status revoked
  • IRS determination letters
  • Form 990 series returns
  • Organizations that have filed a 990-N

    Philanthropy News Digest (PND), a news service of Candid, is a compendium, in digest form, of philanthropy-related articles and features culled from print and electronic media outlets nationwide.

Candid is a nonprofit organization that serves to inform the public about philanthropy and how nonprofit activities contribute to society. As a Funding Information Network partner of Candid, Tulsa City-County library is committed to serving Tulsa's social sector through offering access to Candid's databases, specialized training and other professional development opportunities.  

While our in-person classes have been temporarily suspended in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can find on-demand training, recorded webinars, professional literature and more at Candid Learning.
