Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) broke ground on the new William K. and Natalie O. Warren Library in South Broken Arrow, the fourth library to be built through TCCL’s MY Library, OUR Future Capital Campaign.

Tulsa City-County Library Receives $4,000 Grant to Expand Technology Access

Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) has received a $4,000 grant through the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL) to expand public access to technology.The funding supported the purchase of four computers for customer use at Rudisill Regional Library, providing access to essential digital resources for education, healthcare, employment, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship.

Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Colson Whitehead to receive 2026 Peggy V. Helmerich Distinguished Author Award

Oct. 7, 2026   TULSA, Okla. --- Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist Colson Whitehead is visiting Tulsa on Dec. 3 and 4 to receive the 2026 Peggy V. Helmerich Distinguished Author Award, given by the Tulsa City-County Library and Tulsa Library Trust. 

Celebrate children’s literature at Books To Treasure with illustrator Oge Mora

Sept. 10, 2026   TULSA, Okla. – For over 20 years, Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) has inspired children’s love of reading with Books To Treasure! This year, Books To Treasure will take place at Hardesty Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St., on Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. The event will feature a presentation and book signing with this year’s featured illustrator, Oge Mora, a collage artist.

Tulsa City-County Library to honor Yuyi Morales with 2026 Hummingbird Award in Literary Arts

Aug. 25, 2026  Tulsa, OK --- Tulsa City-County Library and the Hispanic Resource Center will honor Yuyi Morales with the Hummingbird Award in Literary Arts on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Martin Regional Library, 2601 S. Garnett Road. The ceremony will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon and will feature a presentation from Morales on her life and writings with a book signing to follow.

Aug. 13, 2026   TULSA, Okla. --- Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) invites the community to enjoy an evening of poetry, spoken word, storytelling and art at the annual fundraiser benefiting TCCL’s Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Central Library, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue. This year, VERSES attendees can participate in a silent auction with literacy-themed prizes.

May 7, 2026   TULSA, Okla. --- Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL) invites Tulsa County residents to join the conversation and participate in One Book, One Tulsa, a community-wide reading initiative focusing on Marjan Kamali’s novel “The Lion Women of Tehran” and culminating with a free presentation by the author on Friday, July 31 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Central Library, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue. Books will be available for purchasing at the event, courtesy of Magic City Books.
