TCCL receives national award for digital literacy innovation

   The American Electric Power/PSO Foundation Digital Literacy Lab on Central Library’s second floor features a sweeping view of downtown Tulsa. The inspirational setting is equal to the dreams of library customers who use the digital resources to make their visions a reality.

Central Library highlights hip-hop’s artistic achievements through poetry, music and dance

   Discover the contributions of the hip-hop culture when TCCL presents a series of programs featuring local artists, demonstrations and dances.     Throughout April and May, Central Library, Fifth St. and Denver Ave., features the display “Idea Box: Hip-Hop.” Designed as an audio and visual experience, the display includes interactive DJ equipment as well as art created by local artists from the Black Moon Collective and Clean hands.

South Broken Arrow Library to celebrate with 25th birthday party

   You are invited to help us celebrate as South Broken Arrow Library, 3600 S. Chestnut, turns 25 on April 4 at 3 p.m.    We’ll have a ribbon cutting, photo display of library events through the years and treats. There also will be former library employees sharing their South Broken Arrow Library stories. Customers are encouraged to join the fun and share their library memories too.

TCCL’s Central Library selected as Tulsa’s Best Place to Learn Something New

  The votes are in and Tulsan’s say their Central Library is the city’s Best Place to Learn Something New. The Tulsa Voice handed out the Library’s Best of Tulsa Award today. The local publication has been collecting votes and handing out the Best of Tulsa designations since 2015. Thousands of ballots and tens of thousands of individual votes are cast each year by local residents to decide which businesses and organizations take the top title.

TCCL hosts course in Kiowa Language

   Leon Hawzipta’s first memories of hearing his Kiowa language were as a child listening to elders sing church hymns and recite prayers.    Now, as the advisor for the Tulsa Kiowa Language and Culture Revitalization Program, he works to ensure the culture and language of his tribe is kept alive.

March Madness tips off at Central Library

March Madness is taking over Tulsa and Central Library is ready for tip off. Central’s downtown neighbor, the BOK Center, is hosting the first- and second-round games of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. For those who can’t make it to the game, Central Library has the next best thing – a jumbo screen!
