   January 2017   One thing is missing from the bookshelves of the world: your perspective.  Write your own story.  Be your own author.     Local wordsmiths are invited to enter the 40th Annual Adult Creative Writing Contest for a chance to win cash.  A new category, Graphic Story, encourages writers with an artistic talent to submit their best original artwork and story.  The annual event is sponsored by The Friends of the Tulsa City-County Libraries.

Rudisill Regional Library to Host Film Showing and Panel Discussion on 13th Amendment

   January 2017   In honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Society and Tulsa City-County Library’s African-American Resource Center invite you to a film showing followed by a panel discussion on the 13th Amendment.   The film showing and panel discussion is scheduled for Jan. 12, 6-8:30 p.m. at Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N.    January 2017   In an effort to encourage healthy habits and alleviate a child’s fear of doctor visits, the Owasso Library, 103 W. Broadway, presents “Teddy Bear Clinic,” Jan. 27, 10:30-11 a.m.  This free family event is hosted by MedExpress.   Children, ages 3-5, can bring their teddy bear, or other stuffed animal friend, to learn about hand washing, X-rays, splinters and more.
