Storytime with Tulsa Shock @ Rudisill Regional Library

   Tulsa Shock’s Glory Johnson and Jennifer Lacy are set to take a timeout from the hard court for a storytime in the book stacks.    Storytime with the Tulsa Shock is planned for July 23, 2 p.m., at Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford.  Both Johnson and Lacy will read their favorite books, and talk about the importance of maintaining a strong mental and physical balance.

   To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg, Tulsa City-County Library is hosting “The Civil War Sesquicentennial” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue.    Learn about the Civil War at this fascinating living history event featuring engaging presentations and performances for the entire family. An evening with New York Times best-selling author Dorothea Benton Frank

   Tulsa City-County Library invites you to spend an evening with beloved author Dorothea “Dottie” Benton Frank when she comes to Tulsa Tuesday, June 25 to promote her new book “The Last Original Wife.”    The free presentation is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue. National Day of Civic Hacking at Central Library

  Join the National Day of Civic Hacking at Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue, June 1, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., to learn about the benefits of civic hacking and help create the Tulsa Wiki, www.tulsawiki.org.    Community members can contribute for part or all of the day.  A wrap-up and drawing for door prizes begins at 3:30 p.m.  Learn the basics during Wiki 101 talks throughout the day, enjoy food from local contributors and create a strong sense of community.

Temporary Downtown Tulsa Library To Be Named The Librarium

   Thanks to public involvement, Tulsa City-County Library’s new temporary location in downtown Tulsa will be called the Librarium.     “Libraries belong to the community so we felt it was fitting to involve our employees and customers to name this new location,” said CEO Gary Shaffer. “It’s great to see so much involvement by the public during National Library Week and we’re thrilled with the new name.”
